RESTON, Va., Aug. 2, 2021— The National Court Reporters Association (NCRA), the country’s leading organization representing stenographic court reporters, captioners, and legal videographers, has announced that Maureen Moore, from Chagrin Falls, Ohio, a student at Cuyahoga Community College in Cleveland, Ohio, has been awarded a $500 NCRA A to Z® Scholarship. The scholarships are supported by funds from the National Court Reporters Foundation (NCRF), the philanthropic arm of NCRA.

Moore, who is writing at 120 words per minute, expects to graduate in the fall of 2022 and is excited about entering the field as either an official court reporter or a freelance court reporter. She learned about the court reporting profession by researching jobs she could do from home.

“I am honored to have been chosen and recognized by NCRA. That itself is more valuable to me than anything. As a stay-at-home mom, anything that can be contributed toward my education is appreciated,” Moore said.

“The NCRA A to Z Online Program was a great experience and gave me the confidence I needed to start school. Not only that, but NCRA helped me select my school, because I chose it from their list of approved programs. I attend Cuyahoga Community College, and I know I am getting a quality education. The instructors are all supportive and always seem genuinely happy to help in any way they can. I could not have asked for a better program to attend. I am glad that NCRA has a list of approved schools. It made my decision that much easier,” she added.

To be eligible for the NCRA A to Z Scholarship, students must meet the requirements listed below and submit an application.
