Court Reporter - USDC - Western District of Missouri

The United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri is accepting applications for a Court Reporter in Kansas City, Missouri. Duties include performing reporting services for any judicial proceedings before district and magistrate judges as may be required, transcribing verbatim testimony of proceedings, and reading back all or portions of the court records. Must work well under pressure and may have to work extended court and transcription production hours within strict time limitations. Provides transcripts within the time frames and cost requirements of the Judicial Conference (JC). Responsible for determining that billings and formats comply with JC requirements. Completes record-keeping forms, documents information contained in reports, as well as maintaining and safeguarding records until their disposition according to the statutory requirements and JC policy. The salary of a court reporter is established by the JC and is dependent on experience and qualifications. The range is $83,476 to $100,172.
