Non-competitive appointment

Verbatim Report 1 will be responsible for generating a verbatim transcript of parole interviews and parole revocation hearings. The incumbent will be required to travel to specific location and remain for duration of the proceeding(s). This may include overnight travel depending on the distance of the specified location from the incumbents home which shall serve as their assigned office location. All costs associated for travel will be covered excluding any amounts over the allotted per diem amount. All equipment will be provided by the agency.

  1. Possession of a completion of a two-year course/degree in court reporting or verbatim reporting from a nationally or regionally accredited school or institution or one recognized by the New York State Education Department (you will be required to furnish a copy at the time of application); or
  2. Two years of satisfactory experience in general verbatim reporting; or
  3. Possession of documentation confirming proficiency of at least 180 words per minute from nationally or regionally accredited school or institution or one recognized by the New York State Education Department.
