Police Data Transcriptionist - City of Fresno

The City of Fresno Police Department is currently recruiting for a Police Data Transcriptionist. Under supervision, the incumbent transcribes a variety of police interviews from audio/video recordings of sensitive and confidential nature. Police Data Transcriptionists work from a computerized dictation system to transcribe and type a variety of police records and reports. Incumbents interact with sworn and non-sworn personnel in coordinating tasks, clarifying assignments, and determining the priority of work to be completed. The ideal candidate will have experience using computer aided software, electronic stenotype equipment and shorthand theory. One vacancy currently exists in the Fresno Police Department.

TO QUALIFY, an applicant must have: Successful completion of academic course work required for court reporting, or equivalent. -AND- Certification of the ability to transcribe at a net rate of 180 WPM with a 97.5 percent accuracy rate.
