The National Court Reporters Foundation (NCRF) Natural Disaster Relief Fund was formed to assist National Court Reporters Association (NCRA) court reporters, captioners, or CLVSs who face hardship in the event of a natural disaster. The donations will help provide hardship relief to NCRA members who have been affected by natural disasters.

A major natural disaster is defined by the U.S. Department of the Interior as “any hurricane, tornado, storm, flood, high water, tidal wave, earthquake, volcanic eruption, landslide, snowstorm, fire, explosion, or other catastrophe, in any part of the United States which, in the determination of a federal agency head, causes damage of sufficient severity and magnitude such that an emergency action is necessary to the preservation of human life or property.”
