NCRA offers members a number of print and online publications and resources aimed to keep court reporters, captioners, legal videographers, and students of these professions up-to-date on the issues affecting their careers.

 

The JCR

The JCR is a suite of publications that seeks to inform the NCRA membership of the latest information about the profession and the association that serves it. It consists of:

The JCR - Journal of Court Reporting: A print magazine published 10 times a year that features content on members, their on-the-job experiences, and the technological and business issues they deal with on a day-to-day basis.

The JCR Digimag: An online digital version of the magazine available to members who prefer electronic delivery of their favorite materials.

The JCR Weekly: A weekly enewsletter showcasing news about the industry, updates on the profession, and interviews with people making a difference.

TheJCR.com: A website presenting news of the day about court reporting, captioning, and legal videography.

 

The NCRA Sourcebook

Print

NCRA produces an annual print directory of its membership. The nearly three-hundred page issue of the JCR includes information on specialty, certifications, and more.

Online

The Online NCRA Sourcebook is an online resource for those seeking their services to search for members by various criteria, including certification, location, specialty, and more.

 

Additional publications

Up to Speed is an electronic publication emailed bi-monthly to NCRA student members, court reporting instructors and administrators, and additional people who have signed up for the newsletter. The e-newsletter is a source of inspiration for prospective court reporters and captioners

The NCRA PAC Take Action newsletter is an occasional publication put out to keep NCRA member informed of legislation and regulatory actions that may affect court reporters, captioners, or legal videographers, as well as federal information that may be useful to them.
