Danielle Griffin is a fifth generation Arizonan and second generation court reporter. She studied music performance at Colorado University Boulder and the Sydney Conservatorium of Music before entering the field of court reporting. She currently performs with the Tempe Symphony in Tempe, Ariz,, where she keeps her passion for music alive.
She is a part of the group of reporters that didn’t go straight into reporting. She took the journey around and first earned her official title as the “Tequila Goddess” at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess’s La Hacienda restaurant in Scottsdale. She is the seventh person worldwide to be certified by the Mexican Tequila Regulatory Council (CRT), a group that is responsible for ensuring that the country’s spirits adhere to official standards. While at the Fairmont, Griffin wielded a collection of more than 200 different bottles from the hotel’s collection and helped guests to find exactly what they needed, avoid hangovers, and generally enjoy themselves.
While yearning to expand her knowledge for cocktails and spirits,Griffin moved to Las Vegas, Nev., to work as Bar Lead for China Poblano at the Cosmopolitan with Chef José Andrés. Andrés is an internationally-recognized culinary innovator, passionate advocate for food and hunger issues, author, educator, television personality, and chef/owner of ThinkFoodGroup. At that time, she was instrumental in training staff and opening the restaurants MiniBar and BarMini in Washington, D.C.
Capitalizing on her need for more education and a desire to get on the machine, Griffin attended the College of Court Reporting in 2014 and received the nationally recognized Registered Professional Reporter (RPR) certification in 2015. She spearheaded bringing back the Jim Bouley Speed Contest in 2015 and 2016 with her mom, Pam Griffin, for the Arizona Court Reporters Association (ACRA). Danielle served on many different committees throughout that time, including the Ethics Committee and the Student Outreach Committee for the ACRA. In 2016, she served on the NCRA New Professionals Committee and was an integral part in bringing in headlining magician Steve Wyrick as the keynote speaker to the 2017 NCRA convention in Las Vegas. She was elected as a Trustee of the NCRF in 2016.
Currently, along with working as a full-time court reporter, Danielle serves as Director of Marketing and Captioning at Griffin & Associates Court Reporters in Phoenix, Arizona. She has many hobbies, but the most important hobby in her life is hanging with her little dog, Bentley.
