Catherine J. Phillips is a freelance court reporter from Ocala, Fla. She holds the nationally recognized professional certifications of Registered Merit Reporter (RMR) and Certified Manager of Reporting Services (CMRS), and she is a Fellows of the Academy of Professional Reporters (FAPR). She began her career in 1981, serving as a deputy court reporter for the 18th Judicial Court in Brevard County, Fla. She also worked as a freelance court reporter since 1984. Recently, she relocated to Collierville to take a position as an official state court reporter.
A member of NCRA since 1988, Phillips has served on or chaired a number of the Association’s committees, including the National Committee of State Associations, Constitution & Bylaws, Membership & Telemarketing, Nominating, Professional Ethics, the Intersteno Task Force, and the Council of the Academy of Professional Reporters. She is also a past president of the Florida Court Reporters Association and has served on numerous of its committees. She is also a recipient of the Florida association’s Emily Mann Distinguished Service Award.
