Court Reporters capture and convert the spoken word to text in many cases heard before the Superior Court, as well as performing other assigned duties. Eligible candidates must be certified by the State of California as a Certified Shorthand Reporter. Ideal candidates will have the ability to capture a verbatim record of all assigned court proceedings, provide readback of testimony upon request, provide realtime translation, and understand, explain, and apply legal terminology, codes and procedures.
The Superior Court of California provides an attractive and competitive hourly rate of $47.68-$57.96 plus differentials. Court Reporters noncertified in realtime but who provide realtime services are entitled to a 5% pay differential. Court Reporters who hold a National Court Reporters Association's Certified Realtime Reporter (CRR) certification are entitled to a 10% pay differential for providing realtime services.
