Four Schools Receive Funding

Four reporter training programs received funding from Congress in the Omnibus Appropriations Act of 2009. The money will go towards realtime programs at each of the schools.

The four schools are: AIB College of Business, Des Moines, Iowa; Cerritos College, Norwalk, Calif.; Del Mar College, Corpus Christi, Texas; and Green River Community College, Auburn, Wash.

The signing of this bill culminates years of work by the schools and NCRA to secure this funding. For some of the schools, receiving this money marks the end of multi-year campaigns to obtain appropriations. NCRA is proud to have been a part of the process of securing appropriations for these programs.

Since the start of the earmarks program, NCRA has helped reporting schools obtain more than $20 million in funding for realtime writer training.
