Raffle for Spectacular Origami Quilt
You must come see this work of art to believe it! This three-dimensional quilt was entirely pieced by hand by NCRA member Jane LaPorte of Columbia, South Carolina, and donated to NCRF as a fundraiser. The flowers are of a Japanese origami style, each one meticulously hand-stitched by Jane. Some of the flowers are distinguishable, such as bleeding heart, thistle, pansies, petunia, and fox glove; others are whimsical. There are hundreds of different fabrics on this quilt including some from Bali, Taipei, Alaska and Hawaii, and some 50 different fabrics in one flower alone. The actual quilting (sewing the three layers together) is beautifully done by machine. Quilt? Yes, but not really one to be use. This is instead a work of art, something to behold and admire, something to adorn a special place or display on a wall..
Raffle tickets are $10 each or three for $25. NCRF representatives will be selling raffle tickets at the NCRA booth (#102) in the Expo Hall.

Clark Library at NCRA headquarters in Vienna, VA.
