Responsibility for Collection/Payment/Reporter's Fees

In the freelance arena, appearance fees are paid by the attorneys hiring the reporter for a particular deposition.  Transcript fees are paid by the attorneys who order the transcript and are based on their delivery preferences (e-tran, hard copy, etc.).

Our judicial reporters are employees of the court system that employs them.  Separate arrangements are made with attorneys who order a court transcript and again is based on their delivery preferences.
