Announcing NCRF’s fourth Oral Histories Program partner

April 25, 2013

The National Court Reporters Foundation (NCRF) is pleased to announce that it a fourth official partner has joined its Oral Histories Program:  the Illinois Secretary of State’s Illinois State Library.  The Illinois State Library is honoring veterans from that state by archiving the stories of their wartime experiences in the Illinois Veterans History Project, as well as the Veterans History Project (VHP) at the Library of Congress.  To date, more than 50 Illinois veterans have been interviewed and the transcriptions of these interviews have been submitted to NCRF for processing prior to being sent to the VHP, where they will be archived at the Library of Congress and made available to researchers, historians, and the public.  Cheryl Walker, the Illinois Veterans History Project Coordinator, said that they plan to contribute between 100 and 200 more by the end of 2013.

NCRF is happy to welcome the Illinois State Library as its newest official partner in their Oral Histories Program.
