Special Donation to NCRF from the Shorthand Reporters Association of Australia (SRAA)
This is one of those stories where something wonderful came out of something maybe not so wonderful. Earlier this year, the Shorthand Reporters Association of Australia ceased to exist as an association and had to make a decision about the remaining funds in their bank account. SRAA officers, including former president Suzanne Mendra and treasurer Polly Templeton, decided to close the bank account and donate the remaining funds to NCRF, since a similar body doesn’t exist in Australia. SRAA donated $500 to NCRF.
“These types of donations mean so much to the Foundation,” says B.J. Shorak, NCRF’s Deputy Executive Director. “They are not solicited but, rather, given in the truest spirit of charity. NCRF is very appreciative of this special donation and wishes all of our colleagues ‘Down Under’ the very best now and in the future.”
