Friends of the Congressional Hearing Health Caucus planning for an expanded program in 2013
On November 16, the Friends of the Congressional Hearing Health Caucus held a meeting to begin planning for an expanded program for 2013. NCRA strongly supports the Congressional Hearing Health Caucus and will continue to attend briefings and meet with members of Congress to ensure that broadcast captioners and CART providers are represented with our nation’s elected officials on Capitol Hill. The meeting included Congressional staffers, groups that represent the deaf and hard-of-hearing, and other interested organizations.
NCRA would like to thank Rep. Tom Latham (R-IA) and Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY), the co-chairs of the Hearing Health Caucus, for their support of furthering awareness of issues pertaining to the deaf and hard-of-hearing communities to Congress. NCRA will be helping recruit members of Congress to join the caucus this year, to place a stronger focus nationally on issues that affect the deaf and hard-of-hearing communities.
