Court reporters visit Capitol Hill
State leaders advocate for court reporting profession on Capitol Hill
From February 26 to 28, NCRA's state leaders gathered in Reston, Va., to take part in Legislative Boot Camp, a unique program offered by NCRA that provides training on how to advocate for the stenographic court reporting profession. The program concluded when the group of 55 state leaders representing 26 state court reporting associations traveled to Capitol Hill and walked the halls of Congress, educating members of Congress on issues critical to the profession.
State leaders received two days of training to prepare for visits with members of Congress and their staffs arranged by NCRA's Government Relations staff. State leaders can take this training back to their home states and lobby for court reporters on a wide variety of issues that may arise in a legislative session.
