NCRA Reaches Out to Students through Campus Conventions
NCRA’s most recent campus convention enticed so many students to attend that it was moved into the prestigious Ceremonial Courtroom of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York. When the New York Career Institute invited NCRA to bring a campus convention to its students, the plan was to hold the event at NYCI’s campus. However, when 125 students decided to attend, former NYCI graduate Anthony Frisolone, RDR, CRR, CRI, who works as a federal official in U.S. District Court, generously helped NCRA make arrangements to hold the ninth campus convention in the prestigious Ceremonial Courtroom.
NCRA started offering conventions to court reporting campuses in 2009; to date, NCRA has hosted campus conventions for a total of 539 students. In the past four months, NCRA has hosted campus conventions at four court reporting colleges: Prince Institute of Professional Studies in Montgomery, Ala., in April; Sage College in Moreno Valley, Calif., also in April; Gadsden State Community College in Gadsden, Ala., in June; and the one hosted by New York Career Institute at the Ceremonial Court in New York in June.
