Technology Boom Triggers Privacy Alarm among Florida Lawyers

Big Brother is here, and he is us. The conspicuous consumption that drives the market for smartphones and state-of-the-art gaming systems may make privacy -- even privacy expectations guaranteed under the U.S. Constitution -- a thing of the past, some South Florida attorneys say. People don't think twice about putting their lives online through Facebook, Twitter, or foursquare. But even personal data is gathered by high-tech devices and sometimes used by the government and lawyers in a variety of litigation.
