NCRA's Current Initiatives

At their July 2011 meeting, the NCRA Board of Directors identified 5 key areas of focus for the upcoming fiscal year. Learn more about each of these exciting developments below.

Writing Our Future	Begun last year with a member-wide survey identifying the strategic direction of the association, the results of Writing our Future have become NCRA's compass for leading the organization. Learn more about how the outcomes of this project are driving NCRA on the Writing our Future Homepage.
Steno Opportunities in the Court	Currently in progress, this initiative will review the year-long third-party study performed through the National Judicial College to determine the most effective role of the steno reporter in the courtroom of the future. More info to come this spring!
Promoting the Value of Steno to External Audiences	NCRA is actively promoting the value of the stenographic court reporter to the legal community. As part of this initiative, NCRA has created resources to empower members to promote the profession within their own communities. View these tools in our new Promote Steno section.
Marketing Assistance to Schools and Student Support	In addition to our new Student Facebook page, NCRA has new tools for schools and students available in our new Promote Steno section of the website, Are you a school? Visit our Flickr page to download photos for use in your promotional materials. More exciting information is coming soon, so stay tuned.
Enhancing Member Value	Over the course of the year, NCRA will be paying particular attention to revitalizing membership and encouraging new members to join. In addition to promoting steno, and Writing our Future, NCRA will offer TechCon this February. This brand new cutting-edge event will focus on the latest in the technology that drives the profession to ensure that our members stay ahead of the market curve.
