Realtime Systems Administrator Workshop and Exam
Friday – Saturday (Earn up to 1.0 CEUs.)
Realtime remains a powerful “wow factor” for clients, and the ability to successfully set up and troubleshoot realtime feeds is a major asset for legal technology professionals of all stripes. The Realtime Systems Administrator Workshop provides court reporters, legal videographers, and other legal technology professionals with the technical knowledge and troubleshooting skills needed to become proficient in providing realtime to clients. Attendees who pass the exam on Saturday will receive NCRA’s Realtime Systems Administrator Certificate.
There are no formal prerequisites for the workshop; however, the following items are recommended:
• For court, deposition, and CART/captioning reporters— It is recommended that reporters have basic knowledge of realtime, have a strong knowledge of their hardware and CAT/realtime software, and know how to set up and operate their equipment. Bringing equipment for the workshop is optional, but bringing a device with browsing ability (e.g., a laptop, tablet, or smartphone) is encouraged in order to participate in quizzes that will be given throughout the day.
• For legal videographers and IT professionals— It is recommended that videographers and IT professionals have basic knowledge of realtime. It is NOT necessary to be able to write realtime or possess any equipment. A realtime feed will be provided for you. Bringing a device with browsing ability (e.g., a laptop, tablet, or smartphone) to the workshop is encouraged in order to participate in quizzes that will be given throughout the day.
Friday, April 10: 9 a.m.–5 p.m. (seminar)
Saturday, April 11: 8–11 a.m. (seminar)
Saturday, April 11: 1-5 p.m. (exam*)
*Upon completion of the workshop, attendees will be eligible to take the Realtime Systems Administrator Exam on Saturday, April 11. Attendees who pass the exam will be awarded NCRA’s Realtime Systems Administrator Professional Certificate. The exam requires a separate registration and is not required to be taken immediately after the workshop.
