Hon. Julie Smith, Judge in District Court, 1st District

The Hon. Julie Smith is accepting applications for a part-time contract position of Official Court Reporter. Official court reporters must be competent in the making, preserving, transcribing, and delivery of a verbatim record of trial and other proceedings through the use of either pen or machine shorthand or the use of multi-track recorders supplemented by logging procedures. Other duties may be assigned by the appointing judge. Competence must be demonstrated by meeting the testing requirements as set out in the Nebraska Supreme Court Rules regarding Court Reporting Personnel (equivalent of an RPR and most CSRs for shorthand court reporters). Real time preferred. The starting date for this position is May 22, 2017. Service provided by this contract position will be on an as-needed basis. Salary for this position will be based on a part-time-needed basis plus mileage reimbursement. Position is open until filled. Please see instructions to apply below.
