The North Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association is the leading advocate and resource for the state's $17.5 billion restaurant and lodging industries. NCRLA represents the interests of more than 16,000 businesses throughout North Carolina, who combined employ 10 percent of the state's workforce.

• Legislative Action Day - Save The Date! Join your hospitality colleagues for NCRLA's second annual Legislative Day on June 18 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the General Assembly in Raleigh. This half-day event will provide you with all the tools you need to visit with your state representatives and express your concerns about legislation potentially affecting your business. Following visits, both legislators and members will gather for a private reception at Big Ed's City Market Restaurant. Stay tuned for additional information coming soon!
  

• Congratulations Scholarship & Grant Winners! A total of $145,000 in scholarships and grants were given to North Carolina's most deserving students and educators on April 27 at the NC Hospitality Education Foundation's Excellence in Education Gala, which was held at the Grandover Resort & Conference Center in Greensboro. Outer Banks restaurateur, Mike Kelly received the Excellence in Education Champion Award for his dedication and commitment to support education.
